We are witnessing a high growth in the field of Solar Energy. A big factor that effects the cost and efficiency of Solar System is the Solar Panel. Let’s discuss in this blog about different types of Solar Panel and how they effect Cost and Efficiency of Solar System.
Monocrystalline Solar Panel: Monocrystalline solar panels are made up of Silicon solar cells. In this panel the solar cells are made of single crystal of silicon. These Solar panel provide high efficiency of 20%. These panel are bit costlier as compared to others.
Polycrystalline Solar Panels: Polycrystalline Solar Panels like Monocrystalline Panel are made of Solar cells. In this panel solar cells contain different crystals of silicon. There efficiency is around 15-17%. They are less costly as compared to Monocrystalline solar panel.
Thin Films Solar Panel: Thin film solar as the name suggest are very thin and lighter as compared to previous two panels. These panel can be made from different materials and are not limited to silicon. Considering their shape and weight they are useful in terms of mobility. These panels are easy to produce. They have a lower efficiency of around 7-10%. Their cost is also lowest as compared to other Panels. Thus, selection of Solar Panels plays an important role in determining efficiency and cost of solar solar system.
